Soma Sadhana

Wholeness at All Levels Through the Inner Practices of Yoga

SOMA SADHANA is an ancient body of yogic wisdom, a community of Spirit, and an opportunity to accelerate the establishment of Wholeness at every level of your existence through Initiation into the deeper practices of Yoga.

Soma Sadhana may be taken independently or, for yoga teachers, it may be taken as part of a two-phase program leading to Yoga Alliance RYT500 designation.  The second phase, Samata Abhyasa**, will begin Fall 2012.

Soma Sadhana may be for you if:

* You want to deepen (or begin) your meditation practice with authentic, initiatory teachings not available in books, magazines, or Internet.

* You are NOT a yoga teacher, but want the deeper, living teachings to awaken to your true inner radiance.

* You ARE a yoga teacher and want to have RYT500 designation, but that is NOT your primary motivation.

* You wish to establish a more fulfilling, coherent and progressive at-home sadhana (spiritual yoga practice).

Participation in Soma Sadhana is by application, open to 200 Hour Course graduate and other dedicated practitioners of yoga. For an application, please email advancedcourse@peachtreeyoga.com

Shabda Diksha

Formal Initiation into Antaranga Meditation

Over three days, students will receive formal initiation and instruction in Antaranga Meditation, an ancient and powerful meditation practice. This beautiful and authentic practice will produce the experience of progressively deeper levels of awareness, coupled with profound purification of the physiology, with more and more wholeness in all aspects of life.

Antaranga Meditation does not require effort, mind control, belief, or previous meditation experience. The ease and effectiveness of this practice has surprised many. Whether new to meditation or with years of experience, students receiving initiation and then practicing this method will be taking a significant step in personal unfoldment.

Through the remainder of the course, experiences will be met by clear teaching, resulting in deep understanding and experience that will impact all of life. New practices will be gradually added, resulting in a complete and balanced sadhana, opening us to the awareness of our true nature and our life to all possibilities.

North Georgia Mountain Yoga Retreat

For six days in residence, we rest deeply in our own essential nature, releasing deeply rooted stresses and fatigue. The synergy of Antaranga Meditation and other deep yoga practices of the inner limbs in a sattvic environment where the student leaves the responsibilities and tasks of the world behind will blissfully accelerate evolution toward higher states of consciousness. Effects are comparable to many months of twice daily meditation. Experiences will be discussed, understood and clarified within the context of ancient yoga texts. There will also be opportunities to enjoy the precious, healing power of silence in this nurturing environment.  We will be staying at Forrest Hills Resort.

A Well-Rounded Experience

Throughout the Soma Sadhana course, we will stabilize the effects of these powerful practices through short sessions of active, restorative, and partner asana practice, pranayama, and soulful camaraderie.
